[ELGIN, Ill.聽–聽September 11, 2026] 黑料网 announced the formation of the聽Roeser College of Business and Innovation, made possible by a transformational gift from Tom Roeser, CEO of Otto Engineering. The new college brings together 黑料网’s undergraduate Business Department, MBA program, Sports Management, undergraduate Computer Science, the MBAI (Informatics) program, and the Doctoral Program in Computer Science under a single, unified vision.

As part of the announcement, 黑料网 welcomes Dr. Tao Wu as the Roeser College’s first leader. Recruiting a distinguished finance professor like Dr. Wu signifies the ambition and investment in making the Roeser College a prominent part of the Chicago business community. 

A Bold Vision for Christian Business Education

The creation of the Roeser College comes at a time when the demand for professionals who can navigate business, finance, technology and analytics continues to grow. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in business and financial occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2024 to 2034, with approximately 942,500 openings projected each year due to employment growth and the need to replace workers who leave these occupations permanently.

That demand extends across the technology and analytics fields increasingly shaping modern business. Employment of data scientists is projected to grow 33.5% between 2024 and 2034, while information security analysts are projected to grow 28.5% and operations research analysts 21.5% during the same period. Overall, computer and mathematical occupations are projected to grow 10.1%. This projected growth is more than three times the rate projected for all occupations.

Welcoming Dr. Tao Wu

Dr. Tao Wu joins the Roeser College from the Stuart School of Business at Illinois Institute of Technology, where he served as a tenured finance faculty member for over a decade, during which time he was the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at the University of Waterloo and a visiting scholar to Banque de France. He brings with him a distinguished record of research, teaching, and real-world financial market experience that reflects the caliber of scholar the Roeser College aims to attract.

Dr. Wu earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. in Economics-Operations Research from Columbia University. Before pursuing his doctorate, he traded derivatives for a major investment bank in New York. This experience continues to inform his research and teaching in asset pricing, derivatives, fixed income, credit and liquidity risk.

His research has earned recognition, including the McGraw-Hill Distinguished Paper in Finance Prize and Best Paper awards at the Financial Management Association Conference and the Asia-Pacific Association for Derivatives Conference. He has published extensively in leading academic journals and presented his work at the American Finance Association Annual Meetings, Stanford, Wharton, the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, and the European Central Bank. His research on derivatives and interest rate models has been funded by the Arditti Center for Risk Management, Montreal Institute of Structured Finance and Derivatives, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Elgin, IL聽鈥撀牶诹贤� will host its 2024 commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 14th, at Herrick Chapel on the University鈥檚 campus. This year鈥檚 commencement will feature two ceremonies: one at 10:00 a.m. and another at 2:00 p.m. Doors will open for guests at 9:00 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. Commencement Speaker: Dr. Nick Perrin

Nick Perrin, Senior Pastor of Corinth Reformed Church in Hickory, North Carolina, will deliver the commencement address. Dr. Perrin brings an abundance of experience in academia, theology, and leadership to this year鈥檚 commencement. Prior to serving as Senior Pastor at Corinth Reformed Church, Dr. Perrin was the President of Trinity International University for five years. He also held a noticeable role as a professor of New Testament and served as Dean of the Graduate School throughout his 14-year tenure at Wheaton College Graduate School.

A prolific author, Dr. Perrin has contributed extensively to the field of biblical scholarship, including over a dozen books. His most recent publications include聽Luke: An Introduction and Commentary聽 and聽The Kingdom of God: A Biblical Theology. Dr. Perrin鈥檚 academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Bible from Marquette University, a Master of Divinity from , and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from

Elgin, IL 鈥� October 24, 2024 鈥� 黑料网鈥檚 Department of Education hosted its annual Interview Night, formerly known as “Mock Interview Night,” on October 23, 2024. This event, part of the Senior Seminar that goes with Student Teaching, provided eight graduating seniors with an exclusive opportunity to connect with school administrators actively seeking to hire talented educators.

The Department of Education (DOE) at 黑料网 has built strong relationships with school districts in the region, resulting in a highly anticipated event where administrators from five districts, represented by nine leaders, came to interview 黑料网鈥檚 seniors. The shift from mock interviews to real job offers reflects the trust and demand for 黑料网 graduates, as administrators now look forward to recruiting directly from this event.

This year’s Interview Night was a yet another success, with one senior leaving with multiple job offers and others encouraged by the range of choices to begin their teaching careers. 鈥淚t is evident that 黑料网 is preparing students to collaborate with colleagues, communicate with families, and deliver instruction that supports student learning,鈥� said Jeron Shelton, a 黑料网 graduate and Principal of McKinley Elementary School in 鈥淭he candidates I interviewed had a passion for teaching and could articulate their 鈥渨hy鈥�. I was impressed with their experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and their understanding of how to support student growth.鈥�

Administrators were impressed with the caliber of 黑料网 students, including Mark Moore, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in School District U-46, who shared his enthusiasm: “I am impressed with the ways that the 黑料网 students I interviewed are preparing to enter our teaching profession and look forward to seeing them succeed next year in their own classrooms.”

Beyond the formal interviews, several 黑料网 graduates now in leadership roles, including Matt Langton, Principal at Carpentersville Middle School in, stayed afterward to engage in a meaningful discussion with students about the teaching profession. This unique opportunity for conversations to happen sets 黑料网鈥檚 event apart from larger college job fairs, offering students personalized feedback in a welcoming atmosphere.

World Leaders Forum proudly held its 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing to raise funds for its transformative RISE Program, a unique initiative that offers students with intellectual disabilities the chance to experience a full, enriching college life. Held at picturesque Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock, Illinois, the event brought together community members, sponsors, and participants who share a commitment to helping these students thrive academically and socially.

This year鈥檚 golf outing featured a day of friendly competition, with teams hitting the green for a fun-filled tournament. Participants were able to enjoy the sunny weather and the beautifully maintained course, competing for a variety of exciting prizes. For the 3^rd聽year in a row, Cydney Clanton, a professional golfer from the LPGA Tour, participated in the event hosting a golf clinic with the RISE students. Also, Cydney brought her expertise, interacting with players, offering golf tips, and sharing her journey as a professional athlete. Her presence added an inspiring element to the event, as attendees had the unique opportunity to meet and learn from a world-class golfer while supporting a charitable cause.

The funds raised during the Charity Golf Outing will directly benefit the RISE Program, helping 黑料网 provide tailored academic support, vocational training, and social experiences that allow RISE students to fully integrate into campus life.
